Check the connection

For Wi-Fi, confirm the printer and device use the same Wi-Fi: A wireless way for nearby devices to connect to a router or network. Full definition network. For USB: A common cable and socket type used to connect devices or storage drives. Full definition, reconnect the cable and try another port.

Choose the correct printer

Avoid an old duplicate, “Copy 1” printer or PDF printer selected by mistake.

Remove and add it again

If it is connected but still offline, remove the printer from the device and add it again.

Use official software only

Download the correct Device driver: Software that lets an operating system communicate with hardware such as a printer, graphics card or Wi-Fi adapter. Full definition or app from the printer manufacturer or trusted app store.
