Test close to the router
Confirm the connection is stable near the Router: The device that shares the internet connection with computers, phones and other devices, usually through Wi-Fi. Full definition. If it is poor even nearby, the issue may not be coverage.
Raise and open the placement
Place the router in the open, above floor level and away from metal cabinets, fish tanks and large appliances.
Move towards the centre
A central position usually covers more rooms than a corner, garage or closed cupboard.
Compare rooms
Walk through the property with one device. Note where signal or speed drops sharply.
Move competing equipment
Keep the router away from cordless-phone bases, microwave ovens and other electronics where practical.
Choose the right upgrade
For one nearby weak area, an extender may help. For a larger home or multiple floors, a properly placed mesh system is often more reliable.
